Shanghai Conventus Polymers New Materials Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Conventus Polymers LLC, a leading supplier of high-performance engineering thermoplastics, has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), effective Sept. 24. The certification recognizes Shanghai Conventus Polymers’ ability to meet or exceed current specifications for products, services, and systems to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. ISO 9001:2015 is the well-recognized international standard that specifies requirements for the company-wide quality management system (QMS).
“We’re thrilled to have earned registration for ISO 9001:2015; it is clear proof that our organization takes quality seriously and places great importance on it,” said Harley Shi, General Manager for Shanghai Conventus Polymers New Materials Co., Ltd. “This is a major accomplishment and a testament to our employees’ dedication to providing the best products and services day in and day out.”
Shi added that the certification also demonstrates the company’s ability to consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements, while striving for continuous improvements throughout the company. For the company’s customer base, ISO 9001:2015 certification provides an extra level of confidence in terms of rigor and discipline shown by the supplier. The scope of the certification includes sales of polymer chemical products (except hazardous goods).
Shanghai Conventus Polymers was established in 2019 as a global formulator and compounder dedicated to the application development and market development needs of Far East molders. The company provides complete plastic solutions that incorporate materials, processing, design, and other functional requirements in a flexible, fast, and highly efficient process.
Shanghai Conventus Polymers offers a highly technical focus and unique expertise and strong relationships with key OEMs. The company’s highly focused approach within key end-use markets and its ability to develop new applications is critical in expanding penetration of its high-performance polymer portfolio.
Among the company’s key product offerings is a full product line of siloxane polycarbonate (PC) copolymers. Siloxane PC offers several benefits over standard PC, such as improved chemical resistance and weatherability, ease of processing for faster cycle times, and most notably its low-temperature impact resistance. Unlike standard PC, whose impact properties drop significantly at negative temperatures, siloxane PC can offer good impact down to -60C. The company is focused on emerging markets like telecommunications/5G networks, electric vehicle/battery packing, chargers, auto interiors, antenna housings, and high-speed trains.
The company’s core markets include electrical/lighting, fluid handling, sporting goods, defense, durable healthcare, and oil and gas.
